Fondant by Mckenzie

Our beautiful Mckenzie was willing to put together a fun filled evening of cake decorating using fondant. We had a fantastic time and appreciate all that Mckenzie did to organize this fabulous activity!!
It did get a bit messy...and we may or may not have eaten half the fondant before it made it onto the cupcakes. :)

 Voila! The masterpieces!!
Here is the fondant recipe that Mckenzie made-

Marshmallow Fondant:
1 bag mini mashmallows
4 Tablespoons water

Microwave them together for 1:30-2 min, they should still be in marshmallow form. Then stir the marshmallows until liquidy.

Then stir in 8 cups of powdered sugar....or until it won't take anymore then cover your work surface with a little powdered sugar and dump the whole bowl on top and kind of kneed it till it's thick and not so marshmallow-y (less stretchy)

Then, based on what happened tonight, I would refrigerate it before you use it because the harder the stuff was in the beginning, the less it stuck to your hands.

The Young Women's Girl's Camp was held at Camp Zion located in New Hampshire. I was invited to attend Thursday for ward/branch time. These lovely girls were still smiling at the end of the 5 days.
Liz with her grandma and branch camp director Jennifer Stay. Liz flew out from Utah to attend girl's camp with her grandma. She is a member of our church, but she lives in Utah....another one we wish we could adopt. :)
Pres. Allen attended most of the week and was our priesthood leader. He is the president of our branch and his daughter Mckenzie is part of our young women's. (We only have three girls that are officially in our branch).
The girls had a fabulous time showing us all their fun camp songs.
Fiona (on the right) is the last of our 3 girls in the branch.
These girls were spoiled with a beautiful lakeside camp site with beautiful views and sunsets.

It is always amazing to me to see so many bodies of water here in New England. I am jealous of all those that have homes right on the beach.
Nothing spells camp like a blazing fire! Always a favorite part of camping for me.
We enjoyed watching skits, songs, testimonies and dinner with the stake. It is amazing to see how girl's camp influences their testimonies and love for each other. I felt so grateful to be able to attend and partake of the wonderful spirit there.
There's no better place to serve than in YW's. I am constantly inspired by these valiant young women!
